Terms of Service
Effective 19 August 2026 · A contract between you and Creation Theory (ABN 36 846 827 139), trading as Aligned ("Aligned", "we", "us"), operator of alignedapp.tech
1. What Aligned is — and what it is not
Aligned is a self-knowledge tool. Through guided conversation with Aria, our conversational AI, it helps you see your own patterns more clearly and produces written reflections (your Compass Reports) based on what you share.
Aligned is not therapy, counselling, or medical care. Aria is an AI, not a psychologist, therapist, or doctor. Aligned does not diagnose, treat, or cure any condition, and nothing in your sessions or reports is medical or psychological advice. Aligned is not a substitute for professional care, and we encourage it alongside professional support, never instead of it.
If you are in crisis — if you are at risk of harming yourself or someone else — please do not use Aligned for that moment. Contact your local emergency services (000 in Australia) or a crisis line such as Lifeline (13 11 14 in Australia).
2. Who can use Aligned
You must be at least 18 years old. You must provide accurate account information and keep your sign-in method secure. One account per person.
3. Sessions, credits, and payment
- Your first session is free.
- After that, sessions are paid for with session credits, purchased individually or in bundles. Prices are shown at purchase and charged in USD via Stripe, our payment processor.
- A credit is only consumed when a session completes — meaning it reached the depth required to generate your Compass Report. Sessions that end early (a dropped connection, a false start) do not consume a credit.
- Credits do not expire.
- Credits are personal to your account and not transferable or redeemable for cash, except where required by law.
- See our Refund Policy for refunds; nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
4. Your content and your privacy
What you say in your sessions is yours. We store it to provide the service — including Aria's memory of your journey (Resonance) and your Compass Reports — and we handle it as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your data and we do not use your sessions to train AI models. You can request deletion of your account and data at any time.
5. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the service: no attempting to access other people's data, probe or overload our systems, resell access, use Aligned to generate harm, or reverse-engineer the service. We may suspend accounts that do.
6. Our intellectual property
The Aligned service — including the I AM Engine, the Octagon framework, the Compass, Aria, and all software, design, and content other than what you share with us — is our intellectual property. Purchasing credits buys sessions, not any licence to our IP.
7. Honest limits of the service
Aria's reflections are generated by AI from what you share. They are offered as perspective, not verdict — they can be incomplete or wrong, and they are not professional advice (see §1). You remain responsible for your decisions and actions.
To the extent permitted by law (including the Australian Consumer Law, whose consumer guarantees are not excluded), our liability is limited to re-supplying the service or refunding what you paid for it.
8. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be notified in-app or by email with reasonable notice. Continued use after notice is acceptance.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
